An electric brew-in-a-bag system

The All-in-One Electric BIAB System Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

10-Gallon Electric Brew-in-a-Bag System

4.7 / 5.0

All-in-one electric Brew-in-a-Bag (BIAB) systems promise simplicity and precision. I've brewed dozens of batches on one, and here's my verdict on whether it's the right upgrade for your brewery.

Pros

  • Incredibly Space-Efficient: Combines your hot liquor tank, mash tun, and kettle into one vessel.
  • Precise Temperature Control: The integrated digital controller holds mash temps perfectly.
  • Safer and More Convenient: No open flames means you can brew indoors, year-round.
  • Easy Cleanup: Fewer vessels to clean makes the end of the brew day much faster.

Cons

  • Heavy Lifting: Hoisting a water-logged bag of grain can be challenging without a pulley.
  • Requires Electricity: You're tethered to an outlet, unlike with a propane burner.
  • Potential for Lower Efficiency: A full-volume mash can sometimes lead to slightly lower efficiency than traditional sparging.
